House Rules
- Reroll 1's when rolling the next level's HP
- Reroll 1's for healing spells
- New characters start with max gold for their class. (existing characters add the difference to inventory)
- Spellcasters will receive bonus 0-level spells for having a high (wis/int/cha). 10-17 gives one extra spell, 18-25 gives 2 extra spells. (essentially the same pattern as first level spells, but the bonus starts at 10 instead of 12)
- All characters receive a feat at 2nd level, in addition to those at 1st and 3rd.
- Before embarking on the process to becoming eligible for a prestige class, discuss it with the GM first.
- As a general rule as characters procede through areas, if taking ten is a valid option (in the GM's opinion) and taking ten on a particular roll would allow one to see something, hear something, open a door, etc, the GM will simply -give- the information to the party (or party member) without requiring the roll, in the interests of speeding up gameplay.
- Initiative: Roll once for the encounter, initiative order can change in one of three ways: (Not quite a house rule, but more of a clarification)
- Ready An Action: As a standard action set a condition that will trigger a partial action. Your iniative changes to just before the triggering iniative.
- Delay: If you are not certain what you wish to do, or you feel that your next action may be dictated by a number of future actions, you may delay as a free action. If you wish to act before your next turn comes around, you may act after (in response to) the actions of others (so you may not interrupt actions such as spellcasting), and your initiative moves to the time at which you acted Unlike a readied action, a delayed action need not be specific; it is not limited to a partial action; and it must occur after other announced actions are completed, instead of interrupting them.
- Refocus: Spend the entire round doing nothing (you may still make AoOs). At the end of the round your iniative improves by +20. You may refocus multiple times in a combat and its effects do stack.
- Paladins remain lawful. Paladins are a prestige class, as are the other Holy Warrior flavors of paladin.
- Masterwork armor costs an additional 150GP over the base price, and usually reduces the armor check penalty by 1. However, an alternate effect is possible for those unconcerned by armor check penalties.
- Light: MW can provide -1 to ACP OR reduce ASF tby 10%
- Medium: MW can provide -1 to ACP OR additional +1 to Max Dex
- Heavy: MW can provide -1 to ACP OR +1 to AC
AC = Armor Class; ACP = Armor Check Penalty; ASF = Arcane Spell Failure
- Skillpoints for all PC classes increased by 2 points per level, save for bards who get an extra 4 skillpoints per level, and certain special cases who know who they are already.
Old, Revoked, House Rules
Setting up a ready action (I'll do X when Y occurs) will not change one's init, but delaying until A to do Y will result in a new init of A.
The feat 'Eschew Materials' has been changed from what is in the book -- spells cast in this manner are cast at +1 level.
Paladins do not necessarily have to be lawful. Must consult with DM before creation/adding paladin levels.
